On Saturday 20 September 2025 – the first Norwegian AWG test event was held. Airsofters from different parts from Norway came to the South to have a taste of what the Airsofter World Games are and can be.
This is always the first step, finding a good organiser and location to run the first test. As competition in airsoft is often frowned upon because of the lack of oversight, we believe with Airsofter World Games that this is well handled. It’s up to us to show that it is possible and this is exactly what happened in Norway.
Was it a perfect run, of course not. This is the first step of many to grow the competition into what it’s potential is. The next step is to run a full day with competitions with multiple variables that need to be changed during the day to find the perfect balanced scenario. This is a lot of work and requires people on the right places. With OMS, we believe that we found a perfect organiser in Norway to run the first games and hopefully more will follow their example.
AW is in contact with NASF, the Norwegian airsoft federation, to join the communication and strengthen airsoft in Norway as a result. Airsofter World Games are a tool to tighten the connections between all layers of our sport/hobby. We want to thank all parties for being part of this conversation.
OMS also designed a special patch, a welcome and surprising sight for us, a very welcoming one to see how Norway embraces AWG. We’re looking forward to the first test day!
